Developer, Hall & Co, have released the first plots as part of the redevelopment for new homes of the former King’s School campus in Macclesfield.
The family-run developer, which is also behind schemes in Stockport’s historic Underbanks conservation area and sustainability-focused community Flora Henbury, is the first to release new homes on the former school site. Development of the former school site school, which moved to a new, purpose-built campus in Prestbury in 2020, is set to bring over 400 new homes and 89 retirement properties in easy-reach of Macclesfield town centre.
Alderley Edge-based Hall & Co has released the first two plots, named in honour of King’s School founder Sir John Percyvale, of its Kings Row development of 10 homes.
Charlotte Wood, director at Hall & Co, said:
“We’re really proud of Kings Row so it’s great to be able to release the first two plots – we’ve worked hard to design homes that are high-spec, modern and energy efficient, while remaining sympathetic to the history and heritage of the site.
“Kings Row offers the perfect location for couples or families – each property is designed to balance the need for space and privacy, with the flexibility to accommodate the closer relationship between home and work. They are beautiful, unique homes in a fantastic location, so we expect to see a lot of interest in the first plots.”
The Kings Row development will sit alongside larger schemes on the former school site, including a 121-home development from Hillcrest Homes on the Cumberland Street campus, around 300 homes on the Fence Avenue campus, being delivered by Barratt and David Wilson Homes North West, and an 89-home retirement community from McCarthy & Stone.
