Wilmslow based local B2B telecoms specialist, All Communications advise businesses to consider roaming SIMs as an alternative after widespread network outages affected UK business last month.
Roaming SIMs are an alternative technology, that can connect automatically to a new provider if it cannot find a network, offering a failsafe alternative that can avoid downtime.
UK cloud telephony customers were hit with widespread network outages on Friday 31st January, leaving many businesses without communications.
Most of the UK was affected because of a national fibre break, leaving many businesses without connectivity. With customers unable to contact them, businesses have undoubtedly seen both drops in sales, and in customer satisfaction.
The January outage was not the first time an outage of this magnitude has occurred. In an eight-month period during 2019, every UK network provider experienced at least one major outage:
- O2 in March 2019
- EE in May 2019
- Vodafone in June 2019
- H3G in October 2019
Any outage, no matter for how long and no matter the area of the UK affected, has a significant impact on users and can create a ripple effect of costs incurred and frustration, leading to a negative impact on a business.
