Wilmslow headquarted gym chain, Total Fitness, has revealed 15% year-on-year revenue growth in 2024 thanks to a streamlining of operations and record membership levels.
The business, which has 16 locations across the North of England and Wales, also reported a 19% rise in visits to its health clubs in its annual results for the 12 months to June 2024, with membership growth exceeding expectations by 7%. EBITDA increased 14% during the same period to £5.8 million.
Total Fitness also reached record levels of paying members across its clubs, with January marking its best ever month for new memberships. Other operational highlights for the group included the launch of its Women’s Gym concept in Wilmslow, which has been followed by a second location, a children’s Swim Academy, as well as major renovations for its sites in Hull, Lincoln and Wakefield.
Tom Rayner, chief financial officer at Total Fitness, said:
“Our growth in 2024 underscores the importance of creating a quality, spacious and inclusive environment for our members. We know that the more frequently people engage with their health club, the more it becomes a non-negotiable priority in their monthly budget. This resilience is reflected in our continued financial success and our ability to invest in new initiatives that further strengthen the member experience.
“Our strategy remains clear: delivering high-value, full-service fitness experiences at an accessible price point. With further investments planned for the year ahead, we are confident in our ability to drive continued growth while reinforcing our position in the mid-market fitness sector.”
