Wilmslow based agency Make Events is to host its own virtual event to showcase how digital experiences can work as the company embraces the challenges to sector brought by Covid-19.
CEO and Founder Holly Moore will co-host the event with BBC’s Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones. The Make Events Show will include appearances other TV personalities including Denise Van Outen, Dr Ranj Singh and Vernon Kay. Holly Moore said:
We still find that clients can’t visualise what a virtual event could look like so, in true Make Events style we decided to practice what we preach and put on our own show. Just like our clients, we want to connect with our audience. A virtual event means we can reach a wider audience and they can really connect the brand and team’s personality and see what we’re all about.”
The event will be hosted from The Studio: a purpose built, 230 sq m black box studio space with a vibrant LED screen backdrop for crystal clear presentations. The day’s lineup has yet to be fully announced but will include:
- An events industry panel with Martin Fullard, Editor of Conference News, Denise Mapp, virtual events producer and Frank Mckenna from Downtown in Business
- Denise Van Outen will discuss staring in the only theatre show to remain open in London during the pandemic.
- Rick Parfitt, son of the late Rick Parfitt of Status Quo will talk about how the live music industry will bounce back this year.
- Dr Ranj Singh will speak about the mental health impact of the pandemic.
- Business entrepreneur and author of Taking Care of Business, Paul Cheetham, will talk about how Make Events has managed their financial position during the pandemic.
Newly appointed MD of Make Events, Nick Burrows, will be cycling the duration of the event raising money for FareShare, the charity brought into the spotlight in 2020 by Manchester United footballer, Marcus Rashford’s campaign.
Gethin Jones, presenter of BBC Morning Live and co-host of The Make Events Show said:
Like so many, the events industry was hit so hard. Holly has been a leading light in not giving up, and pivoting. Excited to be involved to showcase how you can adapt your events into the new world…”
The company announced the event via an “everything goes wrong” spoof video call from the Make Events Conference Committee (Jackie Weaver moment included!).
Over the last year, the Wilmslow based agency has seen their virtual event offering increase in demand and the company responds to their client needs with the creation of new products and services including studio and remote virtual events, a content studio offering graphic design, branded printing, video creation and photography, expanded their prop shop, created a bespoke gift box solution and re-branded its sister company, HM Events, offering private parties.
