Wilmslow-based claims management company, The Claims Protection Agency Ltd., is under investigation by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) following concerns over its advertising and sales tactics in regard to motor finance claims.
The business, which has traded under names including My Claim Group, Martin’s Tips, Karen’s Claims, Express PCP, and The PCP Guys, advertises for motor finance claims and refers potential claimants to law firms for representation services.
The FCA investigation looks to establish what customers were told about the amount of redress they might obtain, whether they were told they could make a claim for free, and whether they were pressurised to sign up. The FCA has not reached any conclusions on whether TCPA breached any regulatory requirements.
The FCA notified The Claims Protection Agency of its intention to announce that it had opened an enforcement investigation on 1 September 2025. An application for a judicial review into the investigation was dismissed by the High Court in October, with permission to appeal also refused in December by the Court of Appeal.
Following changes to the motor finance industry, the Wilmslow-based claims management firm had applied to the FCA for a Voluntary Requirements Application (VREQ), effective from 12 August 2025. As part of this agreement, The Claims Protection Agency was required to stop onboarding new customers, stop publishing new financial promotions and withdraw all existing financial promotions.
A notice on the My Claims Group website indicates it is pausing onboarding of new customer sign-ups as it makes “updates to advertising and sign-up processes.”
