The Seashell Sportive, an annual charity cycling event to raise money for Seashell Trust, is returning for 2021, providing the opportunity to cycle the best of Cheshire’s countryside while raising funds for the organisation.
Seashell is a national charity based in Cheadle Hulme dedicated to providing a creative, happy and secure environment for children and young people with complex disabilities which include little or no language abilities.
Thanks to this year’s Sportive sponsors, Brewin Dolphin, Ultimate, Lockton and Pinarello, every penny of the entry fee goes directly to the Seashell. Riders can choose from an entry level 50km SHORT route through Cheshire lanes, ideal for first time sportive rider; a 75km MEDIUM route, giving a great taste of peak district roads and some climbs; or longer more challenging 100km of climbing. For those looking for a real challenge, riders can tackle the epic, leg-busting busting 170km VERY LONG route. Whichever route is chosen, riders will be treated to fabulous views of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire while raising money for a brilliant local cause.
All routes are fully signed, have GPX digital route files, fully supported with feed stops and mobile mechanic support.
The Seashell Sportive is now in its seventh year. While a road cycle could not go ahead due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 event instead moved online with support from professional cyclists from Wilmslow-based Team INEOS who led the peloton on a virtual tour of the North of England.
Full entry details and sponsorship opportunities can be found on the charity’s website.
