Local charity, Seashell, will return to Wilmslow Golf Club for its annual golf day as the charity announces its first live fundraising event since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
Seashell’s Golf Day has been a firm favourite in the calendar for over 25 years and regularly attracts more than 30 teams.
The Seashell Golf Day will take place on Tuesday 22nd June at Wilmslow Golf Club, following its postponement in September 2020.
Teams will compete for the Sue Holman Memorial Trophy, in honour of the former charity chair and golf lover in celebration of her work for the organisation.
Teams come from far and wide to play the challenging course at Wilmslow, as well as local corporate partners.
Seashell supports children and young people with complex learning difficulties, disabilities and additional communication needs from across the UK. The charity has experienced a tough year, not only financially but with a toll on the children, young people and their families not able to see each other. Seashell continued to provide all services throughout the pandemic, although many events were moved online.
Seashell Head of Fundraising, Dominic Tinner, said:
We are so grateful to be able to host fundraising events again to enable us to plug some of the gap left by cancelled fundraising and increased costs.
“We are really hoping that the local community will get behind us and take the chance to get back to some normality again by coming to our Golf Day this June.”
Teams of four are £450, including hot snacks on arrival, halfway house and a BBQ after the golf. Sponsorship opportunities are available from as little as £250 to sponsor a hole.
