Local businessman Robert Smethurst has purchased the assets of the club and looking to rebrand the club as Macclesfield FC. No stranger to football, Smethurst also owns Stockport Town.
Macclesfield Town were removed from the National League in September following a High Court order.
Community has always been at the heart of Macclesfield Town and the vision is to rebuild a community club and invest in 4G pitch, classrooms for the local community and move the club up through the leagues.
Smethurst said “Over the coming years, our main aim is to move up through the leagues”
Plans are in place to rebuild the club and create a secure business model for the future.
