Wilmslow founded ladies’ fashion brand, Sosandar, has reported a record quarter for the three months to 31st December 2021.
The firm, which sells direct to consumers via its ecommerce website as well as in M&S, Next, and John Lewis stores, revealed in its quarterly figures that it had experienced a record breaking three months across all key metrics and channels. Revenue generated exceeded the previous quarter’s performance by 122%.
Sales at the firm have been boosted by strong seasonal demand for partywear in the run-up to Christmas as well as sustained customer interest in knitwear, outerwear, dresses, boots, denim and leather; activewear has also performed strongly following the festive period.
In announcing the report, sales in the early part of January 2022 have kept pace with the previous quarter’s results, leading to Sosandar upgrading its market expectations for the current financial year and predicting total revenue of £27.1 million for the year ending 31st March 2022.
Ali Hall and Julie Lavington (pictured), founded the Wilmslow based fashion brand in 2015, and now serve as Co-CEOs. They commented:
“We are delighted to report a record quarter for Sosandar, with each month being EBITDA positive. Our expanded product range and effective communication with our customers, in line with our strategy, has been a key driver of the growth we have delivered. The strength of our trading, together with the impact of our increased scale, is leading us towards sustainable profitability.
“We continue to trade very well, with our expanded product range and innate agility enabling us to tailor our offering to customer demand. We remain vigilant to the external challenges, however, we have not experienced any material disruption at this time and believe our approach continues to position us well going forward.
“We are more confident than ever that Sosandar is well on the road to becoming the go-to one stop shop for fashion forward women.”
