Matt Galloway, of Poynton firm Galloways Printers, has been identified as one of the young entrepreneurs to watch for 2020 after being named in the 42 under 42.
The annual scheme run by NW Business Insider which has been running for several years has named people from all sectors who have stood out, those with great ideas or those who are strong ambassadors for the region.
Matt Galloway, 33, was appointed managing director of Galloways, the Poynton-based print business in January this year, becoming the 6th generation of the Galloway family to lead the company.
Commenting in NW Business insider magazine this week Matt said:
You could say the timing was not ideal, a global pandemic definitely was not part of the growth strategy for my first year, but it’s all about mindset and looking for opportunities. I see steering our wonderful business through the crisis as the greatest challenge of my lifetime to date.
Months prior to his appointment Galloways completed a £2 million finance deal to replace ageing presses with cutting edge machinery. Matt said:
It has made us 90% quicker than on the presses we replaced. We are now focused on developing systems around our new technologies and building processes to further enhance our client journey.”
As one of the 42 under 42 Matt will attend a celebratory dinner in October to meet his fellow class of 2020 and illustrious alumni from previous years. He added:
It’s an honour to be included – there are some fantastic people on this list – and I will look forward to getting to know them better. I am sure we have plenty to share from our past and future business journeys.”
