Cheshire East Council has granted approval for a 170,000 sq ft of industrial and warehouse units to be built off the Poynton Relief Road.
Developer, Chancerygate, first announced plans for the scheme in Autumn 2022 after acquiring the site from Quorum Property Group. Avro Business Park is set to bring forward 170,000 sq ft of space across 11 units ranging from 7,000 to 29,000 sq ft in size adjacent to the new Poynton Relief Road.
The 7.8 acre site will also adjoin the existing Adlington Business Park and Adlington Industrial Estate, and is anticipated to have capacity to support an additional 250 new jobs to the local community once fully occupied.
Buildings delivered on the site will target an A+ EPC rating and a BREEAM Excellent rating, with solar photovoltaic panels and EV charging facilities for occupiers. Building materials will also be chosen to minimise the scheme’s carbon footprint.
Cheshire East’s planning officers recommended approval for the scheme, citing the suitability of the location of the proposed industrial estate along the Poynton Relief Road as set out in the borough’s Local Plan. The scheme’s sustainability credentials and the potential for job creation were also understood to outweigh some of the environmental impact of the development.
Following planning approval from Cheshire East Council’s Strategic Planning Board, construction is expected to get underway in October 2024, with work to complete the following year.
