With that goal in mind, the Synergy team hosted a Charity Sports Day at Macclesfield Rugby Club on Thursday 10th July with local businesses taking part in a variety of nostalgic sports day games, from egg & spoon and sack races, to tug of war and beanbag toss. The friendly competition was rounded off with a charity raffle and BBQ. In a heartfelt show of community spirit, the event and backing from local businesses raised £3,402.11 for MyCWA. The event proved to be a great success with participants. Hannah Shaw of SAS Daniels commented, “it was a really great event, our team all had a lot of fun and we’d happily attend again!”. But more importantly, the event shone a light on the essential services MyCWA provides. Yasmin Bentley, Director of Synergy Recruitment, said: “When we heard about the funding cuts, we knew we had to do something to help. The response from the local business community has been incredible, and after such a brilliant day, we’re already planning to make our Charity Sports Day an annual event!” Funds raised at the sports day event brings Synergy’s total raised for MyCWA this year to £3,872, with more events still to come.
