Manchester Airports Group’s (MAG) three UK airports welcomed more than 60 million travellers in 2023, a three percent increase on its pre-pandemic 2019 passenger numbers.
The group operates Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports, and saw year-on-year passenger numbers up by a fifth compared with 2022. December 2023 alone saw 4.3 million fly through the three locations.
Both London Stansted and Manchester airports also recorded their busiest ever Decembers with around 2 million passengers travelling from each hub, up 12.1% and 16.9% year-on-year respectively and both ahead of 2019 levels.
Service levels across MAG airports remained high across December, where 100% of passengers passing through security in 15 minutes or less at East Midlands Airport, with the figure standing at 99% at Manchester Airport and 96% at London Stansted.
