Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has been shortlisted for an award in recognition of the group’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
The group, which operates Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airports and is the UK’s largest airport operator, has been nominated under the ‘Large Organisation’ category at the Northern Power Women Awards.
The recognition follows the publication of MAG’s new EDI Strategy last year, which sets out its ambition to become a leader in inclusivity in the UK aviation sector.
Forming part of its industry leading approach, MAG also launched the UK aviation sector’s first EDI forum – ‘Aviation for All’. The forum brings together partners from across the industry to share best practice to drive inclusivity.
Northern Power Women – the organisation behind the nomination – is a collaborative campaign to accelerate gender diversity across the North of England. Its annual awards have now grown to be Europe’s largest celebration of equality – recognising individuals and organisations who are working to drive lasting change within their sectors and communities.
Emma Crossland, MAG’s Chief People Officer said:
“We are proud to be shortlisted for this award, which recognises the positive steps we have taken to create an inclusive culture for everyone at MAG.
“Our colleagues – our Journey Makers – are at the heart of everything we do and working to ensure that we create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered is critical to the success of our business.
“We are committed to continuing on a positive trajectory towards inclusive excellence within our sector and the regions we serve.”
