Macclesfield FC and the Club’s Community Sports Trust are delighted to announce a new collaborative partnership with multinational biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, which will see the delivery of sport and science in primary schools across the region.
The global science-led business has agreed to support the Trust’s ongoing work in primary schools across the area.
The Silkmen and AstraZeneca will now form a strategic collaboration with a new “Health and Science Education” element to be included as part of our existing School Sport Programme.
Currently the Community Sports Trust delivers PE lessons and extra-curricular clubs to primary schools across Cheshire – engaging with over 1,000 children.
This new collaboration with AstraZeneca marks an opportunity to expand the reach of the School Sport Programme, as well as working alongside a world leader in the pharmaceutical and biological industry with the objective to combine science education with the fun and interaction of sport sessions.
The Health and Science Education programme is to be piloted during the Summer Term 2021, with further expansion in the next academic year.
