Mercedes-Benz dealership group, LSH Auto, hosted its third networking event from the organisers of the Women of the Year Awards.
The sold-out ‘Women in…’ event, designed to bring together and empower women, attracted more than 70 delegates to Mercedes-Benz of Stockport. Guest speakers included Bea Armstead, Belonging and Engagement Manager at the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), Nicole Sealey, CEO and Real Housewives of Cheshire star, and Alexa Cherry, Group Director of Sales for Dakota Hotels.
Bea Armstead said:
“I thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many women and allies from different sectors all coming together to discuss common experiences and to champion all women in business.
“My goal is to transcend traditional equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging frameworks. I’m passionate about promoting genuine human connection rather than meeting checklists. Today’s event was a wonderful example of how bringing people together to form real connections with each other can be so powerful.”
Vaughan Blackman, Managing Director of LSH Auto, said:
“I would like to thank the panel and everybody who came along to our third ‘Women In…’ networking event. The day was another resounding success, and I’m sure that our guests came away feeling inspired and empowered. We are so pleased to be supporting the Women of the Year Awards and we’re really looking forward to celebrating the achievements of women across business and society at the ceremony next month.”
Now in its 42nd year, the iconic Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards will take place at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on Friday 11th October. The awards celebrate outstanding female role models across all areas of society and business and this year more than 300 high calibre nominations were received for women across the UK.
The 2024 finalists include women from several areas of business and industries, including media, education, healthcare, hospitality, engineering, construction and manufacturing.
Zalena Vandrewala, managing associate at national law firm, Freeths LLP, who is chair of the board of Women of the Year Awards said:
“We were thrilled by the sheer number of nominations we received this year and are now in the process of the final judging before the big day in October. The awards recognise the outstanding women that are pivotal to our society.
“We’re looking forward to hosting the finalists and all of our guests at the much-anticipated ceremony in October, which will be held in Manchester for the very first time.”
