Following the success of last year’s drive in cinema events, The Christie will be back at Arley Hall and Gardens in Cheshire this spring to hold another weekend of movies.
The screenings will run from Friday 30th April until Sunday 2nd May, with both afternoon and evening performances over the weekend to raise money for the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, which is set to open its new centre in Macclesfield at the end of the year.
Films will include Chicken Run, Alice in Wonderland and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The world’s largest mobile LED HD screen, the iCONIC 100 will also be back to ensure another incredible viewing experience for all of the guests. Food and drinks will be available from vendors, before and during the screening. Alternatively, guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in their car. Toilet facilities will also be provided.
Anyone who attends the event will be able to enjoy the movie from the comfort and safety of their own car. One way systems will be in place and clear queuing guidance will be provided as guests make their way around the venue. Claire Ferguson from The Christie charity, said:
We are delighted to be returning to Arley Hall and Gardens for another Drive-in for The Christie event. The feedback we have received from our previous events has been so positive and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to hold another event for everyone to enjoy this spring.
“But there is no escaping the fact that the last year has tested and challenged us in ways like never before. Our fundraising has been hit hard. In fact, we have lost a quarter of our usual income. This is a heavy blow and directly impacts on the support we can offer the hospital. We have never needed the public more.”
The event is sponsored by Thorneycroft Solicitors and proceeds raised will go to support the Christie charity.
Tickets are £30 per car, with five people allowed in each car. To purchase a ticket for this event, please visit the Christie website; tickets will be sent out by email. To use a car with more than five seats, please contact The Christie charity directly on 0161 918 7403 and a member of the team will be happy to help.
The Christie charity supports the work of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust providing enhanced cancer services over and above what the NHS funds.
