The UK government has released an online guidance document for businesses and employers, to provide advice on how to respond to the Covid19 coronavirus outbreak.
Originating in China, the virus has had significant impact on stock levels and supply chains within manufacturing, and since its spread to Europe, has now begun to hit global stock markets.
In Cheshire, schools have closed or sent pupils home who have potentially come into contact with the virus on skiing trips during the February half-term break, with families advised to quarantine themselves to help contain further spread of the outbreak.
The guidance aims to assist employers and businesses on how to advise staff on the Covid19 outbreak, including:
- How to help prevent the spread of all respiratory infections, including the coronavirus
- What action to take if someone is suspected or confirmed to have the virus in a workplace setting
- What advice to give to individuals who have travelled to specific areas as outlined by the Chief Medical Officer
- Advice for the certification of absence from work resulting from a Covid19 case
The guidance document has been published online in order to ensure that it can be kept up-to-date in response to the constantly evolving situation. The full guidance is available from the gov.uk website here.
