Cheshire based insurer, Royal London, has officially opened its new offices in Alderley Park, and will have 2,200 employees based at the site who formerly worked on the firm’s Wilmslow office.
The 147,500 sq ft Royal London House at Alderley Park is set within the 400 acres of parkland at the site, along with hospitality, fitness and conference facilities. The building has been designed to support greater collaborative working and more sustainable commuting.
Kevin Parry, chairman of Royal London, said:
“I am thrilled to be opening Royal London House after four years of hard work and collaboration across the business. Inclusivity has been central to the design of the building to ensure we provide a positive workplace experience.
“It is wonderful to see so many people safely back in an office environment, creating the energy you only achieve by being in the same place. Royal London House is a strong representation of the purpose-driven modern mutual we are today, while maintaining our strong ties to the North West, which date back over 160 years.”
Chancellor Rishi Sunak attended the official opening of the new office on Saturday 11th December; he said:
“I am delighted to open Royal London House which is a great example of how growing companies can choose to upgrade existing structures sustainably, while continuing to support local communities.”
The Cheshire insurer previously had its offices at its Fulshaw Park campus in Wilmslow. Plans are currently underway that will see the site redeveloped for a mix of high-quality commercial property as well as housing.
