The UK’s small businesses can now apply for the government’s Help to Grow: Digital scheme and access support in adopting digital technologies.
Under the scheme, businesses can receive discounts of up to £5,000 off the retail price of eligible Digital Accounting and CRM software. The technology will enable businesses to more effectively manage their finances and their relationships with customers to help the scale up in the future.
The scheme also will provide businesses with free advice and guidance about what digital technologies are most appropriate for your business, and has been designed with industry and independent experts.
The scheme aims to tackle two of the biggest barriers to businesses accessing new digital technologies: funding, and knowledge and training gaps; and will help SMEs grow by accessing benefits of new digital technologies:
- organising business activities more efficiently including automatically generating invoices and helping to track spend?
- improving ability to reach new customers though data collection that helps you understand their wants and needs?
- making your work smarter and more flexibly by using automation to reduce the time spent on admin, and storing information in one central, accessible location?
All businesses with over 12 months trading, a registered address in the UK and with between 5 and 249 employees are eligible to access the support. Discounts of 50% for approved software can only be used for the first purchase of a single piece of software up to the value of £5,000.
The scheme is the second Help to Grow scheme established by government, following the management training offering that launched last year.
