Update: due to changes in speaker availability, the International Women’s Day Charity Evening has been rescheduled for Tuesday 31st March. Olympic Gold Medal-winning swimmer Becky Adlington will also be speaking at the event.
Wilmslow Conference Centre is inviting women and men to join them for a special Charity Evening on 31st March 2020 to celebrate International Women’s Day.
With the theme An Equal World Is An Enabled World – follow your dreams – guests will enjoy an evening of inspirational speakers, including Wilmslow-based Make Events Founder and Managing Director Holly Moore.
Launched in 2012 Make Events was set up to design unique events and to prove you can work hard and still be nice. It is now the go to agency for the North’s household names.
Holly is also Founder of HM Events for insane parties, weddings and events that require high maintenance for private clients.
In 2015 she won an Enterprise Vision Award for women in business in the North and was nominated for a PwC Private Business Award 2018. She sits on the board of the Manchester PA Network and is a sought after motivational speaker.
Also taking to the speaker platform on the night is Ruth Naylor, Director of Marmalade Marketing. Ruth has spent the last three years building a dynamic niche business showcasing her leadership and delivery skills.
Prior to this Ruth spent 10 years in corporate banking, leading teams through transformational change within RBS and latterly joined Aldermore Bank to guide them through their 2015 flotation.
Outside the office Ruth is an advocate for physical and mental wellbeing having recently faced a cancer battle whilst raising her two young children. Passionate about running she completed the Ultra Marathon Challenge in the Sahara last year on behalf of the charity she chairs, Manchester Beats Cancer.
With lovely goodies from Sweaty Betty, plus wine and nibbles, this is an evening not to be missed. Tickets are £25 and a donation from each one sold will go to Prevent Breast Cancer.
Based at The Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe hospital the Prevent Breast Cancer charity aims to make breast cancer a preventable disease for future generations.
It is committed to fund-raising to support pioneering gene research, facilitate earlier detection and improved screening, develop preventative drugs and educate women on diet and lifestyle to help tackle the disease.
Andrea Cook from Total Fitness, who is organising the event, said:
We are delighted to have attracted such high calibre and inspirational speakers on an important day for women, where we can celebrate success as well as keep the heat on making more progress towards gender equality in the workplace and beyond.
“I can’t think of a more fitting charity to be fund-raising for on the night and we look forward to hearing more about Prevent’s vital fund-raising work and make our own small contribution.”
The event will take place in the Gold Room at Wilmslow Conference Centre on Tuesday 31st March 6.30 to 9pm.
Guests are being invited to book on the event through Eventbrite as soon as possible.
