Continuing its long-standing commitment to charitable causes, Cheshire law firm SAS Daniels has selected Contact Hostel as its Charity of the Year.
Manchester-based Contact Hostel provides accommodation and practical support for homeless teenage girls and has helped nearly 1000 young women move onto happier futures.
As part of the fundraising activities, employees from SAS Daniels’ four offices will again this year be taking part in a packed calendar of physical and community-based challenges designed to encourage participation and teamwork. This includes taking part in the Manchester 10k event where the charity has registered places.
Helen Gazard, Fundraising Lead at Contact Hostel said:
“We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as Charity of the Year by SAS Daniels. Contact Hostel is a small charity that has been quietly supporting teenage girls facing homelessness for over 50 years, so to have our work recognised in this way means a great deal to us.
“We’re really looking forward to the year ahead and to working together to help create a brighter, more secure future for the girls who call Contact Hostel ‘home’.”
Shanae Byrne, conveyancing assistant at SAS Daniels, has a deep personal connection with the charity and stated:
“Having once lived at Contact Hostel, seeing them now chosen as our Charity of the Year by a firm of more than 120 people, touches me in a way that’s hard to put into words. It is truly a full circle moment that brings my past and present together in the most meaningful way. I am deeply grateful to give back to the place that moulded me into the person I am today, and I believe all of us at SAS Daniels can make such a big difference to all the lovely girls that walk through Contact’s doors!”
Last year SAS Daniels raised over £5,000 for its chosen 2025 charity of the year, Space4Autism. Space4Autism is a UK charity that supports autistic children, young people and adults, as well as their families. The total was raised through a wide range of colleague-led fundraising activities held throughout the year, with employees coming together across the firm to support the charity.
Jeremy Orrell, chief executive officer at SAS Daniels, commented:
“Annually, our fundraising committee invites nominations from colleagues for our annual firmwide charity drive, and we are delighted to be offering our wholehearted support to Contact Hostel in 2026.
“Many of the young women have experienced serious difficulties in their lives, including domestic violence, forced marriage, threatened abduction as well as physical and emotional abuse. The charity offers an invaluable lifeline in providing a welcoming and homely atmosphere, as well as helping the individuals return to education, start a job or explore training opportunities.”
SAS Daniels LLP is a Cheshire-based law firm with offices in Stockport, Chester, Macclesfield and Congleton, servicing both businesses and individuals throughout the local area and nationwide.
