Nouvelair has announced plans to resume flights between Manchester Airport and Tunisia in March 2022, with twice-weekly services to the North African country’s capital, Tunis.
The announcement comes following the relaxation of Covid-19 travel rules by the governments of the UK and Tunisia.
While the airline began flights in July 2021, they were suspended shortly after when travel restrictions were first imposed by the UK government.
With a fleet of 10 Airbus A320s, Nouvelair will operate two weekly services from the Northern hub, on Wednesdays and Sundays from 29th March 2022. The airline will be the exclusive carrier between Manchester Airport and Tunis, with onward connectivity for tourists travelling to holiday resorts in Tunisia, with flights resuming in time for the Easter Holiday break.
Karen Smart, Managing Director of Manchester Airport, said,
“The return of Nouvelair to Manchester is terrific news for the 100,000 or so passengers in our catchment who travel to Tunisia each year and will increase choice available to those seeking some sunshine over Easter.”
Carl Denton, UK Sales Agent for Nouvelair, added,
“After being restricted to a limited programme in 2021, we are very excited to restart operations again for 2022, with an expanded operation which will provide great access for holidays, business and most importantly to allow friends and families to reconnect with Tunisia again.”
The airline will sell seats direct to passengers, as well as offering seat capacity to tour operators and via OTAs and travel agents.
